After a few more changes to the settings, the game finally looks and plays ok, with fewer annoying hitches!
I beat the game on casual difficulty. I had heard that Raam, the final boss, was tough and that was no lie. Knowing how to beat him was easy, but knowing how to get it done was the hard part. I ended up watching the vid on StuckGamer for the final answer. They showed the player basically getting Raam to a position where he would just stand there across from you and you could shoot him at will from cover. It works. Kind of a cheesy way to win, but oh well...
I am now playing on hardcore difficulty and just completed Act 3. I am quite pleased with myself. I have had some tough fights that required many restarts, but all in all I am enjoying it as much, if not more than the first time through.
