Rocking out to some amazing music has reached a new level of fun! Though I have seen people play the different versions of Guitar Hero, this is the first time I have ever played it. I have been missing one amazing experience and for that I should be slapped.
Not only does it put you on stage, it makes you the axe-wielding champion jamming to some great music! The game would probably not be half as entertaining without the guitar itself, which works beautifully to give you that rock star feeling (or at least a close enough approximation to it for one programmer).
The game is fun by yourself and fun at parties with others. It is an all-around good time that I found could be enjoyed even by people who do not play video games as a fun spectator event.
I cannot recommend this game highly enough, but one word of warning: the learning curve is pretty steep and may be overwhelming to the uninitiated, young, or non-gamers in the group. It is not as accessible as a game like Wii Sports, but that does not detract from the high quality product or the great fun that can be had when you totally rock out!
