This is a really good game that succeeds at capturing the feeling of Aeon Flux, but has a couple of problems keeping it from being great.
The first problem is the rolling ball end of level (boss) fight. After freeing the mutants and escorting them to safety, Aeon has to disable a shield by driving her rolling ball things through two separate obstacle courses. This timed exercise is INCREDIBLY frustrating and annoying. The game loses an entire point just for that.
The second problem lies with the camera, specifically its distance from the action. The art looks great, especially the character models. The animations are fabulous! Sadly, the camera is so far away that the details are lost most of the time. I have intentionally stopped at times to try and zoom the camera in and look at some of the enemy models to appreciate all the details. I wish the developers would have reviewed their scale some more and increased the focus on the models, at least during the combat sequences.
Overall, though, this is a really fun game. It includes both jumping puzzles and fighting sequences in interesting and challenging ways. I am just now at the point where Aeon decides to leave. I do not know how long the story is, but so far it is very satisfying.
Finally, as a note for the record, I picked this game up from Gamefly only because I had some coupons to use and none of the other games available looked any good in my price range. I had $10 in coupons and I only paid $1.83 out of pocket for it. What a bargain! I am very happy that I got it and I wonder why I never heard of it before, because it ranks right up there with any other AAA Xbox title.
