The action went out with a bang, but the story failed to come together or reach any real conclusions.

The final level was great. The huge weapon platform was awesome! The boss fight at the end was pretty good, except that I have no idea who the mini-bosses were that showed up. It took me a few tries to get through the fight, but once I had it figured out, it was a good challenge without being a treasure-map battle. The only criticism I have is that I never really got the hang of the combat and felt like even in the end I was mostly mashing buttons.

While the game wrapped up nicely, I cannot say the same for the story. Having seen the animated shorts on Liquid Television, I realize that the story in Aeon Flux is generally weird and quite disjointed. However, I believe they could have pulled the story together into a more cohesive whole for the game, regardless of that heritage. Oh well, the story ends up costing the game one point as a result.

Overall, this was a solid title. Good graphics, fun action, and enough hidden stuff left over to justify a second play-through. Unfortunately, they do not have much behind-the-scenes or making-of content aside from some concept art. Too bad.
