While this sequel is not as enthralling as the first time around, it was still an amazing game that deserves to be included in any PS2 collection.

The visuals and environments are just as vast and beautiful as before, providing a rich and powerful view of the game's world. The enemies are detailed, distinct, and dangerous. The art is truly marvelous to behold in every detail.

The game mechanics are comfortably familiar, if not the same as the previous game (why fix what isn't broken?). However, while playing this time we ran into two areas that proved incredibly difficult for us. First was a descending cylindrical chamber, where you have to turn a crank to avoid being crushed by the spiked ceiling on the way down and simultaneously fight off waves of bad guys. We died I don't know how many times trying to get past that. The second was a long passageway prior to the huge fat sister boss. This is a series of fights with little health and no checkpoints along the way. We ended up enlisting the help of another friend who got us through that part of the game, but only after we tried many, many times first.

In the end, this was a great game, but not quite the masterpiece that the original delivered.
