Riddick is a great anti-hero that gets to whip his enemies soundly in this prison breakout.
The first and most striking aspect of this game was the graphic presentation. The characters, environments, and lighting all came together nicely to present a very good looking game that was really enjoyable to look at.
Beyond the graphics, the game offered some good play mechanics and a good story to move you along. Riddick is stuck in Butcher Bay, a hellish prison, and, not surprisingly, wants to get out. You take Riddick through a journey to accomplish that goal, while also leaving your mark on the prison and uncovering intrigue along the way.
As far as gameplay elements go, this game was top notch. The controls were smooth and the interface intuitive. Riddick has plenty of skills to employ as he snaps, cracks and pops the body parts of his foes in numerous close combat sequences on his way up the food chain in the prison.
Like the movie which it accompanied, the one drawback to this game was that once you've seen it and it's over, you will probably not return anytime soon. While a good story and a great game, it is ultimately one that you play through and then trade in toward something else, as it does not have much replay value.
