I was a bit disappointed by the ending, or lack thereof, after retiring from my pirating career. Granted, I completed all the tasks as a mere Journeyman captain, so perhaps I am missing things available at the higher difficulties. Nonetheless, the text-based ending with my biography was a bit of a let-down after such a fine experience.
I also found that one of the best features of the game turned out to be the fact that it loaded up so quickly. I was able to get from my desktop to the game, load my saved game, and start playing all in a matter of seconds. When you are short on time, there is something to be said for a game that loads up almost faster than Solitaire.
